Her hit single ‘Push 2 Start reaches a whooping 300 million streams on Spotify.
South African singer based in the US, Tyla, full name Tyla Laura Seethal (22), is on a winning streak, and nothing is stopping her. The amapiano pop sensation, as her global rise is seeing another milestone with her hit single ‘Push 2Start’ surpassing 300 million streams on Spotify.
This is her second hit single to reach a record-breaking milestone. Push2Start was originally released in October 2024 as the lead single from the deluxe edition of her self-titled Tyla+ debut album. In just two months, it debuted on the Spotify Global Chart. The success follows her Grammy-winning breakout hit ‘Water.’ The song ‘Push2 Start first gained major popularity on TikTok and led to over 500,000 video creations and millions of likes, with Tyla’s own video reaching 1.9 million likes.
Tyla became the first African to host the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2025. “Her bold creativity, vibrant energy, and unapologetic originality embody the spirit of a new generation of African talent breaking boundaries. We are excited to see how this historic moment will inspire countless young dreamers across the continent,” said BET boss Monde Twala.
